When I signed up to take Amanda’s MCAS course, I had low expectations. After all, this is a lifelong condition we are relegated to suffer with, right? Nah. For 2 years, I had been working hard on my low histamine diet and was well medicated to lower my symptoms…. but I was burnt out and exhausted, desperate and hopeless. I missed eating my favorite meals (strawberry and goat cheese with balsamic reduction, anyone?!) and despised taking medication FOUR times a day. I was gripped with fear that any amount of mold or antibiotics would cause a resurgence in my symptoms like anaphylaxis. In Amanda’s class, I learned the tangible steps I needed to take to let go of that fear. She utilizes a unique combination of somatic therapy with other techniques and lays out exactly what to do in order to move forward.

Over the last two months, (thanks to her program and with my doctor’s support) I’ve been able to reduce my medication from four times a day to ONCE a day! I’ve been releasing fear and reintroducing high histamine foods back into my diet. And guess what?! NO REACTIONS! If this keeps up, I’ll be able to go off my medication entirely. It feels like a miracle, but it’s not. I literally just followed Amanda’s program, and here I am. Living my life, recovering from MCAS. I learned SO much about what caused my MCAS and how to navigate the complexities of this disease within my body. I really craved the step-by-step guidance I got with this program, and it was worth every penny. She literally held my hand every step of the way. Even if I have a resurgence of symptoms (which I doubt will happen), I feel confident and capable I know exactly what to do to mitigate those symptoms. “I took the “How To Feel” course hoping to gain insight into why I was stuck repeating the same patterns. What I found most valuable was learning the explicit steps to take in order to implement change. Literally 5 steps changed my life. The hardest part was actually being accountable and implementing the steps. I set my alarm 3x a day and did the work. Even when I thought “this is stupid.” But here I am, writing a glowing testimonial because this actually changed my life. I started implementing the steps with my 5 year old daughter at bedtime, and she’s been calming down and going to sleep easier. I realized with the program I wasn’t giving myself enough credit. Change is hard. I need to slow down and sit with what I’m feeling, instead of rushing through and trying to speed the healing up. Instead of running away from the uncomfortable feelings, doing the techniques Amanda taught me have made those previously intolerable feelings….actually tolerable. Neutral, even. It’s allowing me to work through things that I have compartmentalized for years. My husband has noticed huge changes in me, too. I’ve been calmer, more peaceful, less irritated and less angry. I’m communicating my needs without exploding. It’s wild- I wasn’t expecting any of this! I think anyone suffering from feeling “stuck” on the hamster wheel should take this course. Anyone suffering from high anxiety and feeling rushed 24/7 should take this course. Truly, anyone would benefit. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to work with Amanda,to say I was pleased in working with her is an understatement, she is so easy to talk to. You can just tell that she genuinely cares, and her knowledge and love for the science is amazing. Amanda is excellent at explaining the connection between the labs and how your body is presenting with symptoms. The resources that she utilizes and shares are some of the best out there.  Her guidance was so monumental in helping me navigate some pretty intense issues. I look forward to working with Amanda again in the future.
